VP of Product Management
Hangar A, LLC, a dynamic early stage technology start-up based in Chicago, is
seeking a talented full stack VP of product management to join our development
team. Hangar A is developing the logistics industries most advanced expediteed
cargo logistics platform focused on the end-to-end automation of moving
expedited cargo globally. The next gen platform allows shippers to schedule,
track, and analyze their transportation supply chain, combining digital
automation, process optimization, and state-of-the-art freight analytics to
improve the speed and delivery of air freight shipments.

SCOPE & RESPONSIBILITY:
This position will be responsible for the following:
β—‹ Drive product strategy, road-mapping, and execution that aligns with the
business goals of the organization
β—‹ Manage product managers, designers, and UX, working to ensure best practices
β—‹ Own and deliver intuitive, efficient, and delightful user experiences across
all products
β—‹ Validate and iterate on design solutions through feedback sessions,
usability lab testing, live testing
β—‹ Effectively oversee product delivery, including user research, experiments,
and feature roll-out
β—‹ Maintain a deep understanding of the overall market and develop competitive
analysis to look for new opportunities for growth
β—‹ Work with key business partners and customers to fully understand their
needs and create strategies forthe product team to provide a solution
β—‹ Communicate mission-critical information between product teams and C-level
management
β—‹ Turn product development data and user analytics into actionable product
plans
β—‹ Promote innovation and product-centric design throughout the organization
β—‹ Collaborate with development to create necessary product specifications
β—‹ Be actively involved in developing overall pricing and promotional
strategies for our product portfolio.
β—‹ Participate in various industry conferences to help promote our products,
including panel discussions and speaking engagements.
β—‹ Be involved in activities that are essential to the growth of the company's
business, including strategic partner development, capital-raising efforts,
and regular board presentations.

BACKGROUND REQUIRED:
β€’ A bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field such as computer
science, engineering, business administration, or a related discipline.
β€’ A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in product management, with
at least 3 years in leadership roles such as Director or Senior Director of
Product Management. Experience in logistics is preferred.
β€’ Experience working in early phase startups.
β€’ Proven experience in leading and managing high-performing product teams.
Demonstrated ability to inspire, motivate, and develop teams, and foster a
collaborative and innovative culture. Strong
mentoring and coaching skills are important.
β€’ A track record of developing and executing product strategies aligned with
business goals. Ability to define a compelling product vision, identify market
opportunities, and drive innovation. Experience in scaling products and
expanding into new markets is a plus.
β€’ Expertise in managing the end-to-end product lifecycle, from ideation to
launch and beyond.
Demonstrated success in delivering high-quality products on time and within
budget. Proficiency in agile
methodologies and product management tools.
β€’ Deep understanding of customer needs, market dynamics, and competitive
landscape. Experience in
conducting market research, gathering customer insights, and translating them
into product features and
enhancements that drive customer satisfaction and business growth.
β€’ Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to
effectively communicate product strategies, roadmaps, and value propositions
to both internal and external stakeholders. Strong presentation and
negotiation skills.
β€’ Solid understanding of technology, software development processes, and
industry trends. Ability to work closely with engineering teams and provide
guidance on technical aspects of product
development. Knowledge of relevant technologies and platforms is a plus.
β€’ Strong analytical skills to interpret data, analyze product metrics, and
derive actionable insights.
Experience with product analytics tools, A/B testing, and user research
methodologies.

LOCATION:
100% remote.
Ability to commute or travel periodically to Chicago office.
