The VP of Engineering plays a vital role in our mission to help members live
more. This is a critical role for us; we are a small and fast-growing team.

expertise, solid coding abilities, strong leadership, and excellent

strategy.
**About Aware Health**
50% of the workforce shows up to work in pain or impairments due to
musculoskeletal conditions ranging from acute pain, like muscle strains, to
more chronic pain. People with MSK conditions are often misdiagnosed and are
treated passively with opioids, injections or surgery. Often, these expensive
and risky treatment methods can be avoided altogether with more modern
approaches to preventing, diagnosing and treating MSK pain. Our platform gets
people the right amount of help, avoiding inappropriate and unnecessary tests,
drugs and surgeries. Our approach has resulted in positive outcomes for our

**Key Responsibilities:**
* Develop and execute the technical vision and strategy in alignment with the company’s overall objectives.
* Drive automation initiatives throughout the company.
* Define and oversee the product and technology roadmap, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of projects.
* Ensure the robustness, scalability, and security of the organization’s software products and systems.
* Develop and manage the engineering budget, ensuring efficient use of resources, including assisting with the preparation and execution of a Series A fundraise, slated for launch in Q1 2026.

* Project Management: You will design and oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects, ensuring they meet quality, scope, and timeline requirements. You will ensure Aware Health’s software and systems comply with industry standards and regulations. Identifying potential risks in engineering projects and implementing strategies to mitigate them will be expected.
* Managing budgeting and financial strategies: You will implement strategies to optimize costs without compromising quality or innovation. Knowledge of financial principles to manage budgets and make cost-effective decisions is necessary.
**Qualifications:**
* Proficiency in multiple programming languages (ex. Postgres, Go, React), frameworks, and technologies.
* 10+ years of experience in software engineering, preferably in health tech, including significant leadership experience.
* Proven experience in leading large engineering teams and delivering complex software projects.
* Experience working in a startup environment, flexibility and proactivity are vital to this role.
