We are seeking a skilled Sr. Software Engineer to join our Data Team. The
ideal candidate should possess a minimum of 7+ years of industry experience,
proficiency in Vertex AI, large-scale recommender systems and, content-driven
company environments and internationalized systems.
As a Software Engineer on the Data Team at Yummly, you will play a pivotal
role in designing, developing, and optimizing data-driven solutions. Your
experience with Vertex AI, MLOps, and recommender systems, along with your
familiarity with content-driven environments and internationalized systems,
will contribute to shaping our data strategy. Collaborating across cross-
functional teams, including data scientists, business analytics, and
marketing, you will drive impactful projects that enhance our data
capabilities. Your openness to working on a variety of projects will help you
empower teams throughout the company to leverage data in their work.

* Leverage your 7+ years of industry experience to design, develop, and deploy data solutions that meet business needs.
* Utilize your proficiency in Vertex AI to contribute to the creation of efficient and scalable data solutions.
* Apply your experience with large-scale recommender systems to assist in the development and enhancement of recommendation algorithms and services.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data science, business analytics, and marketing to gather requirements, translate them into technical solutions, and ensure alignment with business objectives.
* Develop and maintain data pipelines using Python, Postgres, Dataform, and BigQuery to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
* Participate in the design and implementation of internationalized systems, considering cultural nuances and diverse user bases.
* Collaborate in architectural discussions to contribute to the evolution of our data infrastructure and ensure scalability and performance.
* Foster effective communication between technical and non-technical teams to facilitate successful project outcomes.
* Adapt and contribute to various projects based on business requirements and priorities.
### Key Ingredients (minimum skills, requirements, education):
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
* Minimum of 7+ years of industry experience.
* Proficiency in working with Vertex AI in Google Cloud.
* Experience with large-scale recommender systems, ideally within a content-driven company.
* Familiarity with internationalized systems, considering localization and cultural factors.
* Proficiency in programming with Python.
* Solid understanding of databases, including Postgres and BigQuery.
* Familiarity with data pipeline orchestration tools such as Dataform is a plus.
* Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, business analytics, and marketing.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Adaptability and flexibility in contributing to various projects.
