**Software Test Engineer - Full Performance**
Our client is seeking a highly motivated Software Test Engineer that works
with minimal supervision/guidance to support the Weather Interactive
Processing System program.
The candidate should have experience and knowledge with software testing, the
ability to think critically and a proven track record of responsible task
ownership and reliable execution. The candidate will work as a software tester
as part of a larger team supporting the critical system used by the National
Weather Service to successfully achieve their mission on a daily basis of
protecting lives and property.
As the Test Engineer, you will interface with the whole SDLC team and ensure
the quality of the release delivered to the customer.
**Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:**
* Executing and tracking status of tests throughout the lifecycle of a release.
* Participation in Agile scrum teams which include cross-functional members of the team.
* Collaboration with our NWS partners on system functionality as it pertains to requirements of the system.
* Maintaining the test suite, both automated and manual test cases.
* Assisting with investigations into issues reported in production for root cause isolation.
**Clearance:** US Citizenship with the ability to obtain a Public Trust -
candidate must be able to pass a National Agency Check (NAC).
**Mandatory Skills:**
* Four (4) or more years directly related to software testing.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills in the English language.
* Working knowledge and understanding of a Linux OS.
* Background in weather or weather based systems,
**Optional Skills:**
* Experience with Test-Driven-Development (TDD)
* Working knowledge of JavaScript, Python and Bash Scripting.
* Demonstrated personal ownership of job responsibilities.
* Analytical mindset with the ability to correlate disparate data sources to identify systemic trends.
* Working knowledge, at a minimum, of the following: Redmine workflow management tool; Remedy Service management application; GIT distributed version-control system Command Line Interface (not GIT Hub web UI); Gerrit code collaboration tool, Jenkins automation server; SonarQube; QF-Test)
* Understanding of SAFe principles, especially with regards to test approach.
* Understanding of testing principles and tools
