**Job Description:**
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Software Engineering
Manager to manage the end to end product delivery of our brand portfolio. This
is a unique opportunity to play a key role in the growth and success of two
dynamic brands with a tight knit team.

What you do in this role will be shipped to production and you’ll see hundreds
of thousands of users using your contributions on a daily basis. The ideal
candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent leadership
skills, and a proven track record of managing product development and
engineering teams.

We are looking for someone who goes above and beyond. Someone who truly enjoys
the challenge of solving complex technical problems while also delivering
seamless experiences for end users.

**Summary:**
This is not a standard engineering manager role. You will be wearing many hats
and interacting with every department in the business. This role requires
extreme attention to detail and organization. You will be the main point of
contact for anything product/engineering related. Everyone in the business
will rely on you to move the product forward.
This role will require you to be deeply involved in end to end product
development and engineering management. You will be required to work directly
with the leadership, design, marketing, and engineering teams to hone and
define the product roadmap and then take that roadmap and build out the
general requirements as well as the technical specifications for the product
and new features to be delivered on time.
This role has a direct path to become the head of product/engineering in 2-4
years.
You will report directly to the CEO.

**Key Responsibilities:**

* Participates in the development of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) for the engineering team and ensures alignment with senior leadership. Creates and/or maintains key product documentation (e.g., customer journey map, technical specs, process mapping, etc.). Identifies and defines key non-functional requirements (e.g., security, availability, performance, etc.) to achieve necessary product metrics. Define and execute strategic product roadmaps to build new products, enhance existing products, or improve performance.
* Builds engineering backlog, prioritizes its items to achieve Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) and continuously keeps it up to date. Holds meetings with the design and engineering team to continuously update product backlog.
* Collaborate with key stakeholders to gather, document, and communicate core business problems and requirements for implementation.
* Turn business requirements into user stories and detailed product requirements using your technical background to consider the best architecture and implementation methods.
* Use design reviews & critique to drive continuous improvement towards a minimal, polished, and delightful user experience.
* Define and prioritize backlog items and product features, ensuring that they are aligned with the product vision and goals.
* Create and maintain epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, and other processes and workflows to support the development team and improve the product development process.
* Lead sprint planning, sprint reviews and retrospectives with the engineering team.
* Ensure that team members have a clear understanding of the product vision, expected deliverables, goals of each initiative, and new product release timelines and milestones.
* Make high-level prioritization decisions quickly and thoughtfully.
* Lead and manage a distributed team of engineers, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project delivery.
* Manage the engineering budget and allocate resources effectively, scaling up and down when necessary.
* Oversee the hiring process for new engineers, ensuring the team is composed of highly skilled and motivated individuals.
* Coordinate and manage project timelines, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
* Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between engineering, design, marketing, and other departments to ensure a cohesive product development process.
* Manage the end-to-end lifecycle for software development from requirement analysis to architecture/design, development, testing, deployment, and support
* Monitor and report on product performance, using data to drive continuous improvement.
* Respond to production issues/alerts and act as the primary point of contact for the development team and stakeholders regarding product-related issues.

**Key Experience and Qualifications:**

* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field required
* 5+ years working on consumer software, b2b saas, healthtech, ecommerce or similar software products
* 4+ years of experience as a senior software engineer, expertise in Ruby on Rails is required
* 2+ years in a leadership role managing engineering teams
* 2+ years of experience working with the product and execs defining the product vision
* Experience with end to end product delivery
* Experience with AWS, DevOps and CI/CD
* Experience managing distributed teams
* Experience hiring A players
* Experience bridging technical and business teams to collect and refine requirements, prioritize incoming work requests, and ensure all committed work is delivered on time
* Experience leading cross-functional projects with business and technical teams
* Experience improving your engineering team’s efficiency by building and managing KPI dashboards via Jira
* Experience launching (A/B) tests and hypothesis analysis to drive product improvements
* Experience in the product development lifecycle and agile methodologies
* Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively
* Passion for healthcare and wellness industries is a plus
