Job Description

NetBox Labs is seeking a Software Engineer to join our Observability Team.
Observability is a key component of network automation and assurance, critical
to our company mission to make it easier to build and manage complex networks.

**In this role you will be responsible for:**

* Building and extending the [_Discovery & Assurance_](https://netboxlabs.com/blog/announcing-netbox-discovery-netbox-assurance/) suite of products, including network observability, monitoring, agents, and fleet management

* Delivering both closed and open source software and owns projects such as [_Orb_](https://github.com/orb-community/orb), [_Diode_](https://github.com/netboxlabs?q=diode) and [_pktvisor_](https://github.com/orb-community/pktvisor)

**You will work closely with:**

* Product management – to bring ideas to life and deliver a compelling user experience

* The Core Applications Engineering team – to create the ultimate observability tooling within NetBox

* The Platform Engineering team – to ensure seamless integration with NetBox Cloud and Enterprise

* Community members as users and contributors to the project

**It would be fantastic if you have the following background:**

* 3+ years of experience with idiomatic Golang

* Experience with Python, Docker, gRPC, PostgreSQL, Redis

* Experience building microservices, distributed systems, and event driven architecture

* Deep knowledge of observability, monitoring and instrumentation, such as OpenTelemetry and MQTT

* Solid understanding of network infrastructure and related concepts, such as devices and device configurations, networking protocols and layers, and network automation with ansible

* 3+ years of experience working in a fast paced, SaaS startup environment

* Great communication skills, including the ability to write technical specifications with diagrams

* Knowledge of CI/CD, GitHub workflows, Kubernetes, Helm

* Involvement with open source projects as a founder, maintainer or key contributor
