**What position are we hiring for (and what will they do)?**
**We are looking for ** **a Software Engineer I **to work closely with the
CEO and VP of Engineering in the design, development, testing and deployment
of CTM’s technical solutions. As a Software Engineer, you will become a master
in Ruby on Rails, Nginix, and will use Redis like a Swiss Army Knife. You
should also bring a passion for cutting-edge technologies, and dream about
shaping the future of the platform. A deep interest or knowledge of AI,
whether it be on-the job experience, or a self-driven passion, is a plus.
**Must Have Skills & Requirements:**
* 1-3 years experience in software development/engineering
* A passion for software quality
* Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
* Proficient with Ruby, Ruby on Rails, JavaScript, Python, Go, or Rust
* Proficient with Git
* Experience manipulating data in MySQL or PostgreSQL
* Knowledge of Redis
* Familiar with Nginx or Lua
* Understanding of web services (REST and APIs)
* Ability to strategically analyze the development process for software and anticipate potential roadblocks with current strategy, adapting before those roadblocks are incurred
* Great written and verbal communication skills
**Nice to Have Skills & Requirements:**
* BS or MS in Computer Science, Math, or other interesting analytic discipline
* Prior large-scale web-app experience
* Github/Bitbucket/Gitlab portfolio
* Always hacking on something!
