innovate, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced Software Engineer to
guide our technical direction and development.
In this role, you will interface with our third-party software development
team, review and provide feedback on their code, identify and mitigate
associated risks, and offer mentorship and guidance to our internal team
members. A key part of this role will also involve planning and groundwork for
the development of an updated version of our software.
**What You’ll Do:**
• Collaborate with product management to understand and translate product
requirements into technical specifications.
• Review code submissions from a third-party software team, ensuring high-
quality code and adherence to best practices.
• Keep abreast of the latest developments in software engineering, programming
languages and frameworks, and apply this knowledge in the development and
upgrading of our products.
• Provide critical technical guidance to our third-party software team,
helping to drive the delivery of robust, secure, and efficient solutions.
• Offer mentorship and technical guidance to internal team members, helping to
elevate their skills, knowledge, and performance.
• Contribute to the design and development of ongoing development efforts.
• Oversee the deployment, management, and operation of AWS cloud-based
systems.

• Proven experience in software development, with a focus on PHP, Python and
JavaScript.
• Proficiency in data science methodologies and tools.
• Proficiency in AWS cloud services.
• Proficiency in the latest coding languages and frameworks.
• Experience with code review and providing constructive feedback.
• Strong understanding of vendor management and risk mitigation strategies.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to mentor and guide team members.
• Experience working in an Agile development environment is preferred.
• An understanding of the education technology sector and/or financial
services industry is a plus.
• Experience working with external vendors for product development and
operations
• Ability to identify and prioritize opportunities for growth and innovation
• Written and verbal communications

**Physical Demands:**
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Must be able to work indoors in a climate-controlled environment
