**Role Description**
We are looking for a Software Engineer who is also interested in mentoring our
students (coworkers) to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible
for designing, developing, and testing software applications, contributing to
the development of our curriculum, as well as mentoring our students
(coworkers) and helping them develop the skills they need to succeed in the
tech industry.
Importantly, the management and mentoring aspects of this role are just as
critical as the hands-on engineering. A key benefit of this role is the
ability to grow as an engineering leader through impactful management
experience. Your official title will be Software Engineering Manager, which
will accelerate your career development.
**Qualifications**
* At least 2 years of experience as a software engineer
* Proficiency with Go, TypeScript, Node.js, React.js, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, AWS, AI tools, and other relevant tools
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Empathy for others and a desire to help them succeed
* History of overcoming obstacles and persevering
* Passion for breaking norms and pushing boundaries
**Nice to have qualifications**
* Experience mentoring or managing others
* Experience in freelancing and working with platforms like Upwork and Fiverr
* Background in writing and developing curriculum, courses, training programs, or educational content
* Knowledge of engineering management techniques including coaching, motivation, team development, and communication approaches
