About Beam
Beam was founded in 2012 by three engineers who saw the opportunity to
modernize the dental benefits industry using technology. The first product was
the Beam Brush, which was one of the earliest examples of the Internet of
Things in healthcare.
Today, Beam Benefits is a digitally-led employee benefits company that offers
dental, vision, life, disability, and supplemental health coverage. The
company simplifies and modernizes the $100+ billion ancillary benefits
industry through its intuitive online platform, self-service tools, AI-powered
underwriting, and thoughtful coverage for improved overall wellness. Its Beam
Perks™ program offers incentives to members and rewards them for healthy
behaviors. Beam is available in 44 states across the U.S.

* Work closely with engineers and leaders in our Platform organization to shape the direction of our infrastructure and tooling
* Consult with senior engineers and engineering leadership to inform service architecture and technology choices
* Identify and nurture great talent that can execute on your initiatives
* Establish, measure, and own Service Level Objectives across our infrastructure
* Develop best practices for monitoring and alerting throughout our application/infrastructure, and proactively identify opportunities for improvement
* Work with engineers to design scalable systems that keep pace with Beam’s rapid growth
* Evolve, promote, and assist with the implementation of our Incident Response Framework
* Advance the team’s security posture and level up the engineering organization’s security practices
* Develop documentation and training to onboard and level up the infrastructure knowledge within the organization
### What Technical Skills Will Help You Be Successful:
* 5+ years of experience as a Site Reliability Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or similar infrastructure engineering role
* 2-3 years of experience building infrastructure solutions in AWS
* 2-3 years of experience using Terraform or a similar tool to provision cloud infrastructure
* 2+ years as a Team Lead or Manager, including conducting 1:1s and managing performance and career progression of direct reports
