Change.org is searching for a Senior Staff Production Engineer to help drive
the enhancement of our global infrastructure and collaborate on building and
scaling technology solutions. You will report to our Senior Manager of QA and
Production Engineering. As a key member of our **Production Engineering team**
you will oversee the architecture and quality of our Terraform codebase,
monitor our site, internal services and databases, and partner with our
constituent engineering teams to build our service oriented architecture.

**Key Outcomes:**
* Oversee the architecture and quality of our Terraform codebase
* Monitor our site, internal services and databases with our state-of-the-art observability stack
* Partner with our constituent engineering teams to architect and build out our service oriented architecture in a scalable, secure and cost effective manner
**The most important core competencies for the role are:**
* Extensive experience with Kubernetes and Terraform
* Experience with Core AWS services and tools, such as: IAM, RDS, ElastiCache, EC2, S3, Route53
* Experience with CI/CD tools like CircleCI or Jenkins
* Experience with debugging, monitoring and troubleshooting tools such as NewRelic, Airbrake or similar tools
* Experience with on-call management
* Proficient in at least one scripting language (Javascript, Python, Go, etc.)
* Ability to mentor and influence others
**Target experience:**
* BS in Computer Science or related technical field or 5+ years of experience in engineering roles
* 5+ years of experience managing infrastructures of different scales
* 5+ years of engineer experience in Production Engineering or related engineering roles

**This is a full time role** , and while we strongly prefer folks living in
the Pacific Time Zone, we are open to folks across the United States, Canada
and Latin America.
We are currently able to hire staff based in the following US locations: AK,
AZ, CA, CT, DC, FL, GA, IA, IL, KS, MA, MD, MO, NC, NJ, NV, NY, OR, PA, RI,
TX, UT, VA, VT, WA, WI. We're also able to hire staff in Argentina, Brazil,
Canada (AB, BC, ON), and Mexico.
Our compensation philosophy is based on pay equity. All of our salaries are
determined before we launch a role – they are based on a predetermined salary
scale, the level on that scale and the cost of labor for that location. The
annual salary of a **Senior Staff Production Engineer** is $265,00 USD in San
Francisco/NYC; $252,000 USD in Austin/Boston/LA/Seattle/DC and $225,000 USD in
all other US Cities. In Canada, the salary is 243,000 CAD in
Vancouver/Toronto; 225,500 CAD in Victoria/Calgary and 210,000 CAD in all
other locations in Canada.
