crew member to join our Engineering Team in Canada as the Senior Software
Engineering Manager.

**YOUR ROLE:**

We are seeking a dynamic Senior Software Engineering Manager to lead our
highly collaborative and innovative engineering team. The successful candidate
will be responsible for creating and fostering high-performance engineering
teams through development growth and playing a vital role between corporate
operations and development teams. You will set expectations and display
Tugboat’s corporate values by providing leadership and support to product
teams to achieve strategic business goals while sustaining the platform’s
scalability, performance, and stability. You are a servant leader who thrives
in the space of innovation, influence, and collaboration.

**DAY-TO-DAY:**

* In partnership with the HR Talent Acquisition team and Engineering leadership, build high-performing teams with talented individuals.
* Exemplify Engineering Leadership Principles of:
* Collaboration and effective communication through Tugboat to enable actionable outcomes
* Foster successful peer partnerships Engineering and Product leadership

* Provide leadership through mentorship and coaching
* Maintain high standards of software quality across teams by socializing standards and practices
* Facilitate sustainable delivery while seeking continuous improvement and maximizing the effectiveness of the team’s efforts.
* Proactively share status and progress updates related to all relevant business activities across the organization
* Establish and foster relationships within the Engineering team and other organizational leaders across Product, Operations, Growth, and Customer Success

**IDEAL FIT:**

* 5+ years’ experience in a leadership role managing two or more software engineering teams
* 5+ years of technical development experience with a preference towards front-end technologies of ReactJS, Redux, Typescript, Cypress, and back-end technologies of Python and Django
* 5+ years’ experience within an Agile environment with working knowledge of principles and practices
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Proven success building high-performing technical teams in a rapid growth organization
* Understands the benefits and trade-offs of design principles
* Seeks collaborative opportunities for continuous improvement towards desired outcomes
* Strives to empower teams through ownership and support
* Enhances culture through the values of openness, honesty, transparency, collaboration, diversity, equity, and inclusion
