**Who we are:**
We are a small group of experienced startup founders with a shared history at
companies such like PayPal, Waze, Palantir, YouTube, Google, and more. We have
identified the construction industry as an enormous underserved market with
minimal software tools to facilitate effective communication between the
planning office and the field.
**Who we need:**
We are looking for a senior software engineer experienced with frontend
technologies capable of leading the development for our React web-based
scheduling tool.
**A strong candidate will:**
* Have a strong grasp of React development.
* Have an ability to translate designs from Figma or similar tools into CSS.
* Has strong opinions about UI/UX and enjoys collaborating to evolve the product.
* Be able to integrate and customize third-party libraries. We use DHTMLX's Gantt Javascript library and Matrix for chat, so you may need to work with a support team to resolve challenges in our use of those libraries.
A key improvement we are seeking is an increase in our release velocity. To
support that, automated tests will be crucial.
You would be the primary developer of the React application but some work will
be delegated to an additional junior contractor. Although you would not need
to personally manage a junior contractor, you would be responsible for code
reviews and assisting with technical direction.
**Work conditions:**
Most work can be done remotely. We typically have 2 hours of company meetings
and 3 hours of technical meetings per week. With Wednesdays being free of
engineering meetings. As the lead frontend engineer, you will have some
additional face-to-face time with the product team. We have found that the
most effective coordination with the Product is possible with an occasional
in-person meeting for strategy and product design.
