You’re a curious, driven individual who loves ingesting large amounts of raw
data and finding patterns to solve real customer problems. You favor pragmatic
solutions over clever ones and take great pride in your work and the quality
of products you create and maintain. You use data, critical thinking, and
problem-solving skills to help drive informed decision-making on behalf of the
business and its customers.
You have strong communication and collaboration skills and work well both
independently and on a team. You clearly articulate what the data says to
stakeholders and are able to look 3 steps ahead and investigate what else can
be answered with the data at hand. You are passionate about machine-learning
and AI and enjoy sharing your learnings with others. You can pivot quickly
with new information and always look out for what’s best for the customer. You
believe building products is a team sport and collaborate well with others
from different backgrounds and job functions.
**Responsibilities**
* Identify valuable data sources and automate collection processes
* Communicate to stakeholders and customers business insights and proactively suggest improvements
* Analyze large amounts of information to discover trends and patterns and create visualizations for customer dashboards
* Proactively suggest improvements to best serve customer needs
* Present information using data visualization techniques
* Propose solutions and strategies to business challenges
* Collaborate with engineering and product development teams to improve the product and data pipeline
**Current tech stack**
* Postgres database
* Tableau for data visualization
* Python for data transformation and Javascript (Nivo) for customer-facing visualization
* GitHub for software development best practices
**Requirements and skills**
* 5+ years in a data analyst role
* Strong history of building and shipping data analytics visualizations to customers
* Experience using data mining to pull insights for business and revenue data
* Understanding of machine learning, predictive modeling, and statistical and regression analysis. Natural language processing a plus
* Experience in early stage startups a strong plus
* Experience with Salesforce data is a plus
* Knowledge of Python and SQL
* Strong experience using business intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau, Looker, Mode) and data frameworks (e.g. Hadoop)
* Analytical mind and business acumen
* Strong problem-solving aptitude, owners mindset, and customer-oriented thinking
* Excellent communication and presentation skills
* BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field; graduate degree in Data Science or other quantitative field is preferred
