MAGPIE is looking for a Senior Software Engineer who wants to be part of a
small team going after a huge opportunity. As a senior member of the MAGPIE
engineering team, you’ll be responsible for gathering requirements, designing,
and implementing new features for all areas of the MAGPIE platform.
You will also be expected to take the lead on major projects as well as mentor
the more junior members of our engineering team. As a senior member of the
engineering team, we will look to you as a leader to introduce both best
practices as well as new technologies that will help continue to set MAGPIE
apart from the rest of the industry.
We're developing at a fast pace and are constantly iterating and pushing
releases into production. There will never be a single boring day at MAGPIE!
Our ideal candidate will:
* Design, develop, and deploy scalable, reliable, and high-performance software solutions that automate the inventory creation, pricing, and listing/sales processes for collectibles on various marketplaces.
* Research, evaluate, and integrate third-party APIs and services to enhance the functionality and usability of the platform.
* Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following industry best practices and coding standards.
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
* Strong experience (3+ years) in software development, with a focus on building scalable web applications and services.
* Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Python, Java, or JavaScript (Node.js).
* Hands-on experience with front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular, Vue.js).
* In-depth knowledge of database systems (SQL and NoSQL) and experience with ORM frameworks.
* Experience with integrating and working with third-party APIs and services.
* Familiarity with e-commerce platforms and marketplaces such as Shopify, Square, eBay, Amazon, and MySlabs is highly desirable.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
* Passion for sports and collectibles is a huge plus.
