Job Description

**Company Overview**

Dystr is a modern cloud platform designed to empower engineering teams that
are not primarily focused on coding, enabling them to perform analyses 10-100
times faster. Our customers include mechanical, electrical, and systems
engineers working in industries such as aerospace, defense, robotics,
manufacturing, medical devices, and automotive.

Our engineering team is a group of experienced software engineers who have
each been developing software for at least 10 years.

We’re supported by leading investors that were early investors in companies
like SpaceX, Uber, Anduril and Notion -- including Long Journey Ventures, Omni
Ventures, Female Founders Fund, Unpopular Ventures, and industry veterans
across the engineering ecosystem.

**Mission**

We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our founding team. You
will be responsible for contributing to core parts of our product and
infrastructure.

**What you 'll do**

* Work closely with the founding team.
* Work both on building new product prototypes, and iterations on existing products.
* Work across multiple aspects of the product - from architecture to infrastructure, backend services, and frontend.
* Contribute to the formation and execution of Dystr’s Roadmap.
* Root cause and fix field failures.
* Interview, mentor and ramp up new engineers as the team grows.

**Qualifications**

We believe that it will take 5+ years of practical experience in an
engineering role to get to the level we want, but we don’t look for average
folks so don’t let that stop you. We're looking for:

* 5+ years of experience with software development.
* You are comfortable and agnostic to working across a variety of backend and frontend languages and frameworks.
* Languages and frameworks you are comfortable with should include TypeScript, React, Node.js, Javascript, Python and Rust.
* Strong CS first principles.
* Deep understanding of networking and computer architecture fundamentals.
* Experience with a physical engineering discipline a plus (i.e. Electrical, Mechanical, Civil etc).

**You**

* Approach to problem-solving is grounded in fundamental principles and logical reasoning.
* Are comfortable deploying and supporting production facing services.
* Write clean, organized and straightforward code.
* Maintain a healthy balance between speed of development and technical debt.
* Believe in the value of clear, professional communication.
* Excited by working at an early stage start-up (hands-on, fast-paced, solution-oriented).
* Enjoy being self-directed in your work.
