**Why it matters:** Our Senior Software Engineer will play an integral role in
driving the vision for Axios HQ as a standalone SaaS company.
**Go deeper:** In this role, you will make an impact to Axios HQ through the
following responsibilities:
* Support the creation and evolution of our flagship product, Axios HQ
* Write clean, well-documented, and well-tested code using best practices
* Collaborate with Axios HQ platform, product, and design teams to ensure we quickly ship and iterate on high-quality products
* Mentor and coach members of the team through pair-programming and empathetic code review
* Stay up to date with industry trends and advise the team on best practices to implement
* Implement secure systems
* Routinely optimize application code for performance and scale optimizations
* Conceptualize and implement solutions for data storage
* Maintain highly available systems
**The details:** Ideal candidates will embody an entrepreneurial spirit and

skills/experience:
* 7+ years of professional experience as a software engineer
* Vast knowledge of frontend and backend technologies like React, Typescript, Python, Django, Node.js, JavaScript
* Experience with FastAPI, Express, PostgreSQL
* Experience with scaling an API platform
* Experience integrating with AI services (Open AI)
* Experience working on real-time collaborative software (CRDTs)
* Large capacity for attention to detail
* Ability to meet tight deadlines
* Capable of prioritizing multiple projects in order to meet goals without management oversight
**Don’t forget: **
* Axios HQ believes in fair and equitable pay. Base salary for this role is in the range of $140,000-$150,000 and is dependent on numerous factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, and skills.
