### **About the role:**
We are looking for an exceptionally talented and product-oriented Smart
Contract Engineer with extensive experience in decentralized finance that is
capable of thoroughly designing and developing advanced, efficient, and secure
smart contract protocols as the third member of our protocol team.
This person will be expected to have a confident grasp on the DeFi ecosystem,
an ability to construct elegant solutions to complex problems, and the
technical aptitude to become an expert in the protocols we work on with a
strong foundation in math and logic balanced with user experience. This role
will be a key team member responsible for the writing, reviewing, maintaining,
and communicating all parts of our smart contract stack.
A growth mindset, experience in DeFi, and passion for delivering high quality
technical solutions with purpose is required.
### **What you 'll do**
* **Build** a range of new protocol developments and enhancements
* **Define** the math and logic needed for new smart contracts
* **Bridge** support for other chains and networks (e.g., L2s, Gnosis Chain, Solana/Rust)
* **Develop** new smart contracts not yet hypothesized
* **Organize** your own priorities, dependencies, timelines, and deliverables.
* **Establish** yourself as a core member of a very passionate team in a friendly environment
* **Think** and act strategically while also sweating the small details
* **Collaborate** with a cross-functional team to develop, test, and deploy smart contract systems
* **Participate** in code reviews and provide feedback to other developers
### **Responsibilities** ###
* Write production-grade Solidity smart contracts
* Review smart contracts code for security and efficiency
* Write and maintain high coverage tests
* Develop processes to deploy and interact with smart contracts
* Make a HUGE impact helping to bring ideas to code
* Work within a dynamic team, who challenges the status quo and champions continuous improvement
* Stay updated with emerging technologies in the blockchain space and continuously enhance your knowledge
* Drive standardization of protocol systems by designing and defining interfaces and clear standards
* Work closely with leadership and product teams to set our onchain strategy and product roadmap(s)
### **Qualifications**
* Minimum 2 years of writing solidity smart contracts working with the Ethereum blockchain
* Strong experience in managing the full life cycle of smart contracts including design, testing, review, deployment and onchain interaction
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
* Deep understanding of the DeFi ecosystem and various DeFi protocols with (preferred) experience building a DeFi protocol
* Prior experience deploying complex smart contract systems to mainnet
* Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and product management to understand requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs
* Ability to derive the information from a research paper, whitepaper, technical paper, litepaper, etc.
* Excellent writing skills and the ability to drive via influence
* Proven ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
* Strong testing skills and experience with testing frameworks for smart contracts
### **Preferred Qualifications**
* Security experience, ideally in the Ethereum ecosystem.
* Senior level experience (5+ years) in another programming language or stack.
* Experience working with cross chain/rollup protocol deployment.
* Formal verification, cryptography, and mathematical background.
* Ability to thrive in ambiguous business situations; be open to acting quickly and iterating.
* Empathy, curiosity, and desire to constantly improve, acquire new skills, and drive to results.
* Ability to influence without authority and collaborate effectively with virtual teams
* Experience in traditional finance, ideally at a firm offering fixed income and other investment products.
