**At SimplyInsured we are on a mission to eliminate fear in health
insurance.**

Health insurance is complicated, expensive, and really important - so it tends
to create fear for most people; our goal is to reduce that fear as much as
possible.

We specifically work with small business owners who have the enormous task of
purchasing the right type of insurance for their employees and their families.
With more than 20,000 customers and several major partnerships including
Intuit and Square, we're growing quickly and disrupting this convoluted and
confusing industry by making it more transparent and fully accessible to
everyone. We got our start in the Y-Combinator incubator, and have been funded
by top-tier investors at Polaris Partners, Bessemer Venture Partners, New York
Life Ventures and AltaIR Capital.

**Job Summary:**

As VP of People Operations, you will lead our People Operations and Talent
Acquisition team. We are looking for someone who will deeply understand the
business and will shape our people strategy to align with the overall business
strategy.

You will work closely with the CEO and other leaders as a key member on the
executive team. The right candidate can both roll up their sleeves and work
independently as well as think strategically and run an organization.

**What you’ll do:**

* Lead the People & Talent function as a strategic and executive partner, aligning people strategies with business objectives.
* Translate ambiguous or difficult-to-quantify people and recruiting goals into clear business value propositions, aligning initiatives with company level goals.
* Develop long and short term people strategies and design approaches for enhancing organizational effectiveness and employee engagement.
* Be the trusted strategic partner, advisor and coach to the leaders in the organization regarding their own development and the development of their teams.
* Build and maintain strong relationships, with the ability to deescalate stressful situations and navigate sensitive issues.
* Uphold a high standard of integrity and credibility in all interactions and decisions.
* Drive talent acquisition goals forward, owning the recruitment process and demonstrating a proven track record of successfully filling critical positions in a timely manner.
* Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects – define necessary tasks, milestones and dependencies and track from start to finish.
* Culture Development: Be a culture champion to support SimplyInsured’s existing culture and evolve it to support growth, geographic dispersion, and a culturally diverse workforce.

**What you’ll bring:**

* 8+ years of relevant Human Resources/People experience
* Proven experience in a leadership role in People Operations, preferably in a startup environment.
* Excellent stakeholder management skills as well as proven experience in leading and development of a HR team
* Strong understanding of People strategy and ability to come up with a plan that fits within the business constraints
* Strong understanding of concepts around legal and HR risk and compliance, specifically when and how to take HR risks (with the understanding that everything is a tradeoff)
* Reasonable understanding of insurance and related concepts
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders across all levels and cross-functional teams
* Experience working with an employee base that is largely non-exempt
* Ability to manage a geographically dispersed team

**Compensation:**

The base salary range for this position is **$190,000 to 200,000.** There is
an associated bonus and equity incentive for this position.

We have a market-based compensation structure. The salary for this position
may vary based on a candidate's experience, industry expertise, technical
skills, and location. The range provided is just one component of total
compensation including, but not limited to bonus eligibility based upon the
achievement of performance objectives and company stock options.
