Nedge Computing Corp. has developed a leading-edge technology platform that
optimizes cloud computing. The platform is backed by multiple patents and
several years of R&D. The startup was incubated in 2019, and was formally
spun-out from NCS Technologies, Inc. earlier this year. Founded in 1996, NCS
is a systems integrator and manufacturer of specialized computing and storage
devices. Our goal is to further develop, enhance and market our platform and
product portfolio to partners and consumers heavily reliant on cloud computing
infrastructure.

Our patented technologies backed by our R&D will enable a low-latency, high-
frame rate, high-resolution, and full-featured user experience on small form
factor end-user devices. We strongly believe our platform’s downstream market
potential is massive and have received industry validation from several
institutions – including leading cloud providers, academia and researchers. We
also believe our product portfolio will increase the adoption of the low-cost
“zero client” computers (such as the Raspberry Pi 4) that will be functionally
comparable to a high-end, Windows-based “thick clients”.

**Who are we looking for in this role**
We are seeking an experienced Senior Linux Software Engineer who would like to
apply his / her skills and experience to innovate in our envisioned computing
paradigm. We are inviting qualified candidates to join our venture and
journey. We welcome individuals who are naturally inclined to take risks and

**What we are looking for**
* Proven track record shipping reliable and performant products to market
* Strong knowledge of Linux systems development
* Strong programming skills in C, C++, or Rust
* Experience with distributed systems or software at scale
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Strong collaboration skills and ability to work within a small team
* 7+ years of industry experience
**Great to have skills**
* Working knowledge of containers and their orchestration
* User space or kernel space device driver experience
* Rust programming experience or the proclivity to learn Rust programming
* Experience with virtualization technologies, specifically VDI or VMware Horizon
* Experience instrumenting observability and monitoring tools
* Experience GPU programming using modern frameworks such as Vulkan, Metal, or DirectX
* Experience with video codecs such as H.264 or similar

* Helping the team take our software offerings to the next level while maintaining code quality, reliability, and performance
* Achieving the best possible performance out of our system while not being afraid to get into the low-level details of the operating system or networking protocols
* Participate in code reviews and design sessions
* Communicate early and often when roadblocks are encountered
