**Staff Engineer (Sharebite, Inc., New York, NY)**
Collaborate on multiple technical projects concurrently and make product
architecture decisions. Architect technical solutions and design systems to
build scalable products. Assist in the process to hire additional engineers
and help grow the engineering team. Mentor and train team members on the
product, design techniques and best coding standards. Innovate and help
implement tools and processes to increase collaboration across multiple teams.
Manage projects priorities, deadlines and deliverables to help meet business
objectives and goals. Mentor other members in the engineering team to navigate
through technical challenges and adopt best engineering practices. Use strong
communication skills (written and verbal) to liase with system analysts,
engineers, programmers and others to design systems and to obtain information
on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and
interfaces. Analyze information to identify areas of improvement, recommend
optimizations and plan installation of new systems or upgrade the existing
system. Utilize knowledge of cloud computing to manage complex infrastructure
on the cloud. Modify existing software to fix errors, adapt it to new
standards, upgrade components and improve performance. Implement
containerization with optimal orchestration strategies to ensure redundancies
for higher system availability, optimize the infrastructure for costs and
scale it efficiently. Explore new tools and technologies to increase velocity
and build quality into the system development life cycle. Position allows
telecommuting from anywhere in the U.S. Salary: $160,000 -$195,000 per year.
Minimum Requirements: Master’s Degree or U.S. equivalent in Computer Science,
Computer Engineering, or related field plus 3 years of professional experience
performing front end web development and cloud computing (including managing
complex infrastructures on AWS). Must also have experience in the following: 3
years of professional experience utilizing Python, Django, and DRF web
frameworks; 3 years of professional experience working with relational and
non-relational databases; 3 years of professional experience writing SQL and
complex queries; 3 years of professional experience working with caching
systems, distributed queues and indexing tools (including Celery, Redis and
Elastic Search); 3 years of professional experience performing
containerization with Vagrant and Docker and Dev Ops tools including JIRA and
Puppet; 3 years of professional experience building Hybrid and Native mobile
applications using Swift and React Native; 3 years of professional experience
utilizing Angular JS, Angular, React, Cypress, and CSS.
