**Overview**
Foraged is pioneering a more sustainable food system that empowers small-scale
food producers. In this role as a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer, you'll
be working with our Head of Engineering, CEO, CPO, and Growth Analytics /
Strategy Lead to lead software development across the entirety of the web and
mobile platforms to ensure an incredible user experience and industry-leading
technical innovation.
**What you’ll do**
* Collaborate closely with the founding team to understand business requirements, contribute to technical decision-making, and help define the product roadmap.
* Develop new features and functionalities for our marketplace.
* Take ownership of full stack development tasks, including front-end UI/UX, server-side logic, API integrations, and database design.
* Enhance the performance, scalability, and security of the existing platform through tackling tech debt, and improving our infrastructure and database structure.
* Collaborate with the CPO (Chief Product Officer) and Head of Engineering to ensure seamless integration of features and adherence to project timelines.
* Monitor and troubleshoot production issues, implementing efficient and effective solutions to minimize downtime and ensure platform stability.
* Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices to drive innovation and continuous improvement of the platform.
* **What you have**
* Proven experience as a full-stack software engineer (ideally 5+ years), with a focus on TypeScript, React, and Node.js. Experience with Next.js, Tailwind CSS, and Medusa.js are a plus.
* Strong expertise in front-end development, including modern UI frameworks, responsive design, and cross-browser compatibility.
* Solid understanding of server-side technologies, structuring APIs, and databases.
* Some experience with infrastructure, DevOps, and tooling.
* Experience working in a production environment with a live platform, ensuring uptime, monitoring performance, and debugging issues.
* Proficient in Git and collaborative development workflows.
* Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and provide innovative solutions.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a startup environment.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
* Familiarity with e-commerce or marketplace platforms.
* Experience with payment gateway integrations, shipping logistics, or inventory management systems.
* Passion for sustainable food practices, local sourcing, and an understanding of the food industry.
