Company Overview:
Peerbound is a venture-backed enterprise software startup, led by a second-
time founder (first startup acquired by a public SaaS company) and a small,
tight-knit team of seasoned engineers, designers, and operators from market-
leading software companies.
Peerbound’s mission is to help companies win their markets by unlocking and
amplifying the voices of their customers. Our product is used and loved by a
growing roster of leading software companies, with a large and growing market
opportunity ahead of us. Machine learning is a foundational aspect of our
product and company strategy.
We are backed by top-tier venture funds whose other investments include
Square, Palantir, Instacart, Airtable, Webflow, and other leading technology
companies.
Our company is based in New York City, and this is an in-person role (in-
office 4 days a week). We have seen that regular in-person collaboration
results in the best long-term outcomes for both the company and each
individual. We learn faster, decide faster, and deliver value to our customers
faster because we are in-person.
Role Overview:
We are looking for a senior founding engineer to take ownership of new
projects and accelerate the team’s progress against our roadmap. You will work
cross-functionally with product and design and at all levels of the tech
stack.
You will be part of a 4-person engineering team, with frontend, backend, and
data science expertise. As a senior member of the team, you will shape a
strong engineering culture by establishing best practices. You will make
foundational technology and architecture decisions that will influence the
long-term success of Peerbound.
In a typical month, you might do one or more projects like these:
Prototype a chat-based interface that allows writers to accelerate their
editing process
Build data pipelines to collect, clean, and organize data from 3rd party APIs
Select and configure a vector database to support a new RAG-based feature
Add real-time collaboration to our rich semantic content editor
You’re a good fit if you…
Want to own projects end-to-end. You will work closely with the Head of
Product to understand the problems you are solving, write RFCs to lay out
technical solutions, and pair with other engineers to execute the
implementation at all layers of the tech stack.
Are comfortable with rapid iteration cycles, constantly learning from users,
and adapting requirements and functionality to new learnings. You must prefer
making timely decisions and taking action, even if it means making occasional
mistakes.
Instinctively care about creating a delightful user experience and have a
demonstrated track record of building user-centric features.
Enjoy sharing your knowledge and mentoring more junior engineers through well-
written RFCs and thoughtful code review.
Believe there’s a huge potential to build a next generation of enterprise
applications on top of the latest wave of LLM technologies.
What You Bring:
5+ years of experience working on modern SaaS applications
Knowledge of distributed system design best practices
Fluency in Python, Typescript, and React
Familiarity with Azure is a plus
