Job Description

Bonsai’s mission is to help people find and buy the products they want, as
soon as they realize they want them. We began in 2016 as a streetwear style
and news app. Now we’re leading the market shift to content-driven commerce.
We are helping publishers launch e-commerce as a new line of business. We
already do this for over 200M+ monthly unique visitors on some of North
America’s leading publishers, including BuzzFeed, Vox, R29, PopSugar, PureWow,
Discovery, and Complex. We’ve been featured in the [Wall Street
Journal](https://www.wsj.com/articles/buzzfeed-starts-selling-products-
directly-to-consumers-11596136660) and [Business
Insider](https://markets.businessinsider.com/news/stocks/buzzfeed-taps-bonsai-
to-drive-revenue-through-content-driven-commerce-1029455553) for leading the
charge in a new wave of native commerce, but the opportunity is still largely
untapped.

Our technology allows users to transact natively while browsing content. We
make the journey from seeing a product to buying it possible in two taps. Our
vision is to make this possible everywhere you discover products. For
publishers, we provide a powerful revenue alternative to ads that also
improves the user experience. For merchants, Bonsai allows them to capture
customers while they browse content, right when purchasing intent is being
formed.

At Bonsai, we pride ourselves on the transparent and performance-driven
environment we’ve created for our team. We value making data driven-decisions
and taking calculated risks that add value to our users.

We are looking for a **Senior Engineering Manager** to become an integral part
of our Native Commerce and Publisher Dashboard teams. Reporting directly to
our Director of Engineering, you’ll create a great environment for these teams
and make a big impact on the future of content-driven commerce.

* Ability to work closely with cross-functional teams and translate technical concepts for effective communication

* A love for technology and an insatiable curiosity for learning new tools that can help us solve real problems
* The passion to bring strong opinions to the table, and the humbleness to be open to change
* A strong customer focus, and excitement about the eCommerce space
