### Founding Account Executive (AE) at Nectar

SF Bay Area/ Hybrid

**About Nectar**

We are a seed-stage company that was just named to BCV’s Top 50 Emerging SaaS
list and looking to hire our first founding Account Executive to help us scale
our sales. We were founded by Harvard, McKinsey, WhatsApp, Square alumni!

We are on a mission to provide all pets with the quality health care they need
from veterinarians and their caretakers. We aim to do this by modernizing the
veterinary tech stack throughout a pet patient’s lifecycle from patient
identification to preventive care, medical care, and monitoring & lifestyle.
Existing vet tools are frustratingly hard to use, lack key features, and look
like they are from the 90s. Our vision for a next-generation cloud platform
includes an intuitive, delightfully streamlined medical record management
system with delightful client communication tools. Predictive analytics will
unlock clinical efficiencies, equip veterinarians with relevant medical data,
and inform pet owners of proactive, tailored insights into their pets’ health.

We launched our MVP with veterinary clinic customers and closed our second
round of funding in Q1 of 2023, and have since moved very quickly in product
development and gaining market traction.

**Account Executive role**

As our first Account Executive, you will be the driving force for our sales
processes. Our prospective clients will rely on you to be consultative and map
Nectar’s solutions to their business needs. As one of the earliest members of
the business team, you will be responsible for identifying new opportunities,
building durable and trusted relationships with the help of the executive
team, and hitting monthly revenue targets.

Given the youth of our organization, you'll have thousands of possible
accounts early on and commission percentages that are exceedingly rare. You'll
help build our go-to-market function and empower our clients to maximize the
value the Nectar platform can provide.

**Location:**

* **Preference given** for SF Bay Area, but open to a more remote/occasional hybrid dynamic for the right candidate.
* Hybrid if local - 2-3x/ week in office - so that you can co-work with our CEO.
* Monthly travel to veterinary conferences

**Where you 'll make an impact:**

* Deeply understand veterinary staff needs and empathetically showcase Nectar's solution
* Build long-term relationships with prospective customers and channel partners based on a shared passion for driving innovation and adoption in the veterinary space
* Give demos to prospective customers with the intent close, owning the end-to-end sales process
* Create a best-in-class buying experience that is focused on the needs of prospective customers and delivers value from start to finish
* Attend industry conferences throughout the U.S. every 1-2 months to showcase Nectar and convert hundreds of prospective customers
* Identify product gaps and customer needs to create an actionable feedback loop with Nectar’s product team
* Manage your pipeline, develop a business plan and map accounts
* Meet or exceed revenue goals in alignment with the company’s operating model

**You will be successful if you have:**

**Qualifications:**

* 1-3 years of full end-to-end B2B SaaS AE experience to SMB segment
* Successful track record of exceeding quota in a entrepreneurial role and startup environment
* Veterinary or healthcare industry experience is a plus but not required
* Consultative, solution-based sales approach
* Outstanding writing, documentation, presentation skills
* Ability to communicate at an executive level to lead and manage many projects, with cross-functional stakeholders, while having tremendous attention to detail
* Familiarity with using a CRM to maintain account information, accurately forecast, and manage deal pipeline activity
* Outstanding data-driven A/B testing and financial analysis skills
* Experience working in a team environment with business, technical, and product teams
* Unshakeable commitment to operating ethically using integrity and aligning to company values
* The ability to travel as required to win business
