Slate is pioneering a verticalized stack that converts language commands into
complex onchain transaction flows.
We will support all DeFi protocols across all chains, along with functionality
for multi step actions (i.e. bridge from x to y then deposit into z) and any
type of automation (i.e. condition my swap on gas decreasing x%, copy trade
wallet 0xy, etc).
The product has never been built before and is exceptionally difficult to
build. We face unique challenges around understanding the infinite possible
permutations of user prompts, inferring user desires based on their custom
profiles, building an agent UI/UX for DeFi from first principles, and more. If
work like this energizes you, you might be a good fit.
Our eventual hire will be a high agency, clear communicator and lifelong
learner who can design and build complex, yet maintainable, systems in half
the time that most competent people think possible. Expect talented,
motivated, intense, and interesting coworkers who are the same.
**Desired Background**
* Computer Science curriculum principles
* Crypto native (i.e. Twitter) for 2+ years
* Interacted with DeFi
* Understanding of smart contracts
* Understanding of machine learning
* Previously built ML applications
* Previously built code interacting on chain (trading bot, arbitrage bot, liquidation bot, etc)
* (Nice to have) Previously built natural language processing code in any application

**Responsibilities**
* Develop Slate's AI to better understand a variety of user queries
* Scope and own technical solutions to user problems end to end
* Develop Slate's execution engine to integrate more protocols, solvers, and chains and reduce bugs
* Review and test code developed by other team members
To date, Slate has been a small, elite team of three. We believe that AI can
bridge the UX gap associated with decentralized finance to deliver high
quality financial products globally, reducing the inequality associated with
inaccessibility, and truly realize the ultimate crypto ethos. We are looking
for a Founding Engineer to take ownership of product development to deliver a
product that (1) revolutionizes onchain UX and (2) allows developers to build
novel applications on top. **You will be a core part of the team with regular
discussions about how to best shape future direction.**

Compensation: Negotiable. $140k-180k cash + 0.5%-2% equity
