##### Job Description :

The position of Python/Wagtail Developer represents a fantastic opportunity to
be a key member of the Digital Development Team that is responsible for the
development of the charity’s Wagtail platform. The role is responsible for the
development, coding, testing, and debugging of Wagtail/Python applications.
The Python/Wagtail Developer also plays a pivotal role in supporting the
Senior Developer in their duties in the engineering, upkeep and evolution of
critical services, systems, environments & processes. Further, to contribute
and help to ensure the quality of the code, and therefore the final product.

The Python/Wagtail Developer is a key role in the Digital Development Team,
which sits within the Technology Group under Finance & Resources. The Finance
& Resources Directorate takes the lead on the Charity’s culture and the
wellbeing of our staff, as well as statutory compliance and value-added
delivery and business partnering across the Charity in support of our Purpose
and Strategy. The directorate is made up of Technology plus 3 other teams:
People, Culture & Transformation, Finance and Corporate Services.

**The ideal candidate will have:**

* Significant experience working in Django and Python development.
* Ideally, knowledge and experience of Wagtail.
* Previous experience within a development / software engineering team
* Development skills: Sass/Less/CSS, JavaScript/React.js, Python, Django , Wagtail , MySQL/Postgres, HTML, Git.
* Ideally, knowledge and experience of Full-Stack development
* Knowledge of Git version control and tools such as GitLab
* Experience and knowledge of DevOps environments, cloud platforms such as AWS, CI/CD pipelines and tooling and release management best practices
* High level knowledge of Internet and TCP/IP services
* High level knowledge of Algorithms and Data Structures
* Experience working with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
* Ability to prioritise, while work across multiple projects at the same time and, at times, with minimal supervision.
* Further education in a Computer Science related discipline.
