**Multiple Location:** Spartanburg, SC / Paragould, AR / Milton, VT / Carey,
Ohio
The positions allow for a hybrid working schedule with 1 day in the office
(Monday) and 4 days remote (Tuesday - Friday) and full remote for those who
reside outside of that range.
**Responsibilities:**
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy web applications using Python (Django) for the server-side and clean HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for the front-end.
* Write well-organized, efficient, and reusable code to create interactive and user-friendly web interfaces.
* Utilize version control systems (e.g., Git) to manage codebase integrity and facilitate effective collaboration with the development team.
* Ensure the highest standards of software quality by implementing best practices, conducting peer code reviews, creating automated tests, and optimizing performance.
* Work closely with product managers and project managers to plan and execute weekly sprints, providing accurate time and effort estimates.
* Contribute to architectural decisions and problem-solving, demonstrating critical thinking skills to address challenges effectively.
* Participate in creating a diverse and inclusive workplace by promoting a spirit of generosity, respecting differences, and embracing varied perspectives.
**Requirements:**
* 1-3 years of professional web development experience using Python, preferably with Django, in a production environment.
* Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript with experience in front-end frameworks considered a plus.
* Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git, for managing code changes and collaborating with team members.
* Demonstrated ability to write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a collaborative and team-oriented approach.
* Experience in working on medium-sized to large projects, contributing to significant software components or complete applications.
* Passion for software development best practices, automated testing, and continuous improvement.
* Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
* An active learner with a passion for exploring new technologies, tools, and development practices.
* Demonstrated good judgment and problem-solving skills, considering short-term and long-term implications.
* A portfolio or examples of previous projects will be highly valued.
**Preferred (but not required) Skills:**
* Experience with technologies such as Microsoft Azure, Linux systems administration, Vue.js, TypeScript, Elasticsearch, Docker, PostgreSQL, Neo4j, Jenkins, New Relic, Salesforce, D3.js, Redis, Sentry, Marketo, Celery/RabbitMQ, or WordPress will be considered a plus.
* Background or knowledge in accessibility technologies, robotics, or AI-generated jokes is welcome.
* Active contribution to open-source projects, local user groups, or personal side projects.
