##### Job Description :

We are looking for someone who is passionate about the environment and our
planet and is excited by the opportunity to help develop geospatial tools and
cutting-edge technology that support sustainable development while protecting
biodiversity and human wellbeing.

##### **RESPONSIBILITIES**

* Developing user interface improvements within CI tools to enhance usability.
* Optimize backend features of CI tools to enhance functionality.
* Maintain and develop improved user interfaces for web and desktop-based tools ( e.g. QGIS plugin).
* Upgrade and maintain Amazon EC2 instances supporting websites and tools of the Moore Center for Science.
* Streamline security updates and upgrades in tools and servers.
* Maintain and build the capacity of GitHub within CI.

##### **WORKING CONDITIONS**

* Work is performed in a typical office environment.
* Flexibility to travel is needed.
* Guidance on flexible work arrangements will be shared during the interview process.
* Fixed-term assignment, expected to be a 12-month assignment.

##### **QUALIFICATIONS**

##### **Required**

* Bachelorโ€™s degree or up to four years of college-level work in computer science or data science and 4 to 6 years work experience.
* Knowledge of open source geospatial software (e.g. QGIS/ CartoDB/PostGIS ), and cloud computing platforms (e.g. GEE/ AWS/GCS /Azure ), including open source deployment frameworks and continuous integration.
* Database design and management experience.
* Experience communicating technical concepts to non-expert audiences.
* Knowledge of UI/UX design.
* Fluency in Python, experience with Javascript, R, R Shiny Apps, Leaflet, and PostgreSQL or Ruby a plus.

##### **Preferred**

* Experience building tools for decision-making and prioritization in conservation.
* Demonstrated experience supporting open-source software development.
* Experience working in Google Earth Engine and with Google Cloud Functions/AWS Lambda.
