**Position Description**

This is an exciting Front Office facing role. You will be a key player on a
trade floor RAD (Rapid Application Development) team aligned to the Equities
business, building critically important software systems for the financial
markets to deliver solutions for urgent and high priority business challenges.
This role covers both pre & post trade workflows, giving you great exposure to
the full trade lifecycle.

**Responsibilities**

Your role will cover the full SDLC, where you will be responsible for
capturing requirements from the Equities trade floor, designing & ultimately
building and testing solutions to achieve them. You will also be encouraged to
put together proposals for new solutions to improve existing processes, to
align with projects being built by the wider technology teams. You will be
part of a team providing real-time production support to our trading floor and
users across the organization.

**Position Requirements**

* 5+ years professional financial services software development experience
* Solid development experience in Java, Python & SQL strongly preferred
* Solid Professional Object-Oriented programming experience a must
* Strong Equities product knowledge & experience
* Good understanding of software development process
* Superb communication skills
* Excellent problem solving skills

**Solid understanding and experience in the following areas:**

* Ability to understand and rapidly implement efficient algorithms
* Design patterns: when they are applicable, and their boundaries
* Monitoring tools & techniques

**Preferred, but not required experience in some of the following areas:**

* C#/VBA development
* AWS Cloud development and tools
* Linux scripting
* Writing restful services
* messaging services (AMPS, Kafka, MQ)
