The Role
You will deliver the commercial strategy for your region, optimizing the
current product portfolio, identifying gaps, conducting market research,
developing relationships with attractions and other suppliers, launching new
tours, and assessing creative ways to increase sales. You will report to the
VP of Product & Distribution and provide solid business support to our
regional teams, collaborating on product ideas and growth strategy.
You will be the champion for growth in your region, working with our local
teams & guides to create life changing travel experiences across a range of
verticals, with extensive experience working with attractions, tours (day &
multi-day) and be extensively growth minded, capable of working in a fast
paced, scaling environment.
You are an analytical thinker and a whizz at spreadsheets, as comfortable
crunching data as you are managing relations with a range of stakeholders
including attractions and tour operators with the ability to build effective
profitable relationships, with excessive contracting abilities.
Key Responsibilities
You will work with the VP of Product & Distribution and regional teams to
develop the market expansion plan for your region, identifying the best places
to expand.
Improve the current product portfolio utilizing your extensive analytical
skills to optimize revenue, maximize quality and ensure your region has
suitable availability to scale.
You will work closely with the regional operations teams to identify gaps in
the market, conduct regular competitor analysis and market research to create
disruptive, unique products.
You will be responsible for launching to tours and attractions in new
destinations within your region - from idea to launch.
Lead the pricing strategy for your region, ensuring competitive edge and
maintaining gross and net profit targets.
You will lead the yield strategy for your region, implementing a suitable
yield process that optimizes profit whilst limiting cancellations, working
with local teams, sales & marketing to implement creative solutions.
Own product quality for your region, implementing processes to appropriately
evaluate both quantitative and qualitative data to inform innovation,
confident implementing changes to optimize customer experience.
Lead all regional contracting with a range of stakeholders, including
attractions, DMC’s and tour operators, with the ability to optimize growth in
favor of our business.
Provide regular market research and industry related information to key
internal stakeholders, highlighting opportunities and potential threats.
Confident working with colleagues and partners to contribute to a suitable
product marketing strategy that maximizes direct and indirect sales.
Work with technology partners, to confidently interpret and manipulate
e-commerce data and effectively grow your regional product portfolio.
Skills & Experience
You will have a minimum 3 years experience in a similar role with extensive
contacts in the attractions & tours space within the North America market.
Can clearly demonstrate examples of previous experience in product
development, where you have built, launched and refined travel products.
Solid geographical knowledge of your region, with a range of contacts and
experience to implement a mix of quick wins and long term strategy.
Highly analytical & numerical skill set with the ability to build, present and
interpret data sets within a commercial and financial capacity, you consider
yourself a champion on excel / google sheets.
Experience in a scale up / startup or high growth business, comfortable
executing at speed and utilizing data in an entrepreneurial environment.
Experience positioning products via partners.
You have the ability to implement solid commercial processes, whilst educating
junior colleagues on the need, and grit to ensure processes are adhered to.
Well organized and comfortable working in a fast paced environment, ensuring
you and your team remain focused and aligned to core business objectives.
Great presentation skills, confident delivering presentations and business
proposals to senior management.
