**Summary**
Laetro is seeking a Senior Back End AI Engineer with a minimum of three years
of experience in Python and Machine Learning. This role will report to
Laetro's CTO. The successful candidate will overlap +/- 4 hours with Laetro's
US PST workday, starting at 8am.

**Responsibilities**
* AI Integration Integrate ML models into backend systems, ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability. Develop and maintain the core infrastructure and services that power our data-driven applications.
* API Development Design, implement, and maintain APIs for various ML services, allowing seamless communication between frontend applications and backend AI engines. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including front-end developers, designers, and leadership to ensure the seamless integration of AI capabilities into our products.
* Model Deployment Deploy trained AI models to production environments, optimizing for performance, resource utilization, and real-time responsiveness.
* Performance Optimization Identify and address bottlenecks in the backend infrastructure to ensure smooth and efficient AI model execution. Also identify opportunities to improve the efficiency of the product.
* Security and Privacy Implement security measures to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with data privacy regulations in all AI-related processes.
* Collaboration Work closely with front-end/back-end developers to provide necessary APIs and endpoints, enabling them to integrate ML functionalities into user-facing applications. Collaborate with the product team to define and implement features and functionality.
* Monitoring and Maintenance Continuously monitor AI services and address issues related to availability, performance, and data integrity. Keep the systems healthy and bug-free.
* Documentation Create detailed documentation for APIs, services, and deployment processes to assist other teams in utilizing AI capabilities.
* Research and Innovation Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI technologies, exploring opportunities to enhance existing products or develop new solutions.
**Requirements**
* Minimum of 3 years of experience with Python and Machine Learning.
* Proven experience in backend development, including designing and maintaining APIs using FastAPI, databases, and server infrastructure with AWS, GCP and/or Azure.
* Experience with Stable Diffusion model (and competitive alternatives), SageMaker, FastAPI, LLMs, Replicate.
* Solid understanding of machine learning concepts and frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Huggingface etc.).
* Familiarity with the deployment and management of ML services in the cloud (bonus points for on-premise experience).
* Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Github Actions), Terraform, and DevOps practices.
* Knowledge of data storage and processing technologies (SQL, NoSQL, etc.).
* Understanding of security practices and data protection in ML applications.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
* High proficiency in English.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
