**Role description:**
As a senior member of the twelve-person insurance brokerage team, you will
build Limit's property book of business from the ground up. You will be
expected to identify and acquire key property market appointments, build close
relationships with retialers and close deals efficiently while delivering on
quality service. Further, you will serve as a design partner to our
engineering/product team as it builds tools that will empower you to do
significantly more business more efficiently. Finally, subject to the needs of
the business, this may evolve into a managerial role where you will be
expected to find and hire future members of the Limit property team.
**Responsibilities**
* Acquire market appointments with key property insurance carriers
* Build relationships with retail brokers
* Serve as a subject matter expert for client needs
* Manage ongoing applications and brokering transactions, marketing to carriers
* Identify and implement ways to further expand Limit's book of business
* Work with technical team to scope tools that will enable the brokerage team to handle more business
* Serve as a liason between clients and the Limit brokerage operations team for all compliance and invoicing needs
* In the future: help recruit future members of the Limit Property specialist team
**Requirements:**
* Bachelor’s degree
* Active P&C license (Surplus lines license is a plus)
* 4+ years in a broker or underwriting position with a particular focus on Property
* In depth knowledge of Property policies and their technicalities, as well as of the Property market in general
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Speed and attention to client services
* A desire to build a more effective brokerage from the ground up
* A willingness to do whatever it takes to ensure a rapidly growing book of business
