We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Engineer to join our
growing organization. As the Lead Engineer you'd be responsible for overseeing
the Backend and DevOps teams, while maintaining a comprehensive understanding
of the entire platform. This is a hands-on role that requires a deep
understanding of Golang and DevOps best practicies.
**Requirements:**
* +5 years of experience in software development, DevOps, or network engineering roles.
* Professional software development experience in Go.
* Demonstrated experience designing and creating new software solutions (apps, services, open-source tools).
* DevOps tools experience, including Containers: Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins CI/CD, Ansible
* Strong debugging skills.
* Experience in resolving critical customer issues .
* Experience with SDLC (Design, Development, Testing, Debugging and Bug fixing).
**Responsibilities:**
* **Platform Strategy and Architecture** \- Maintain a holistic view of the platform's architecture, ensuring all components are aligned with the business objectives and technical strategy.
* **Agile Leadership** \- Lead Agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives. Act as a Scrum Master when necessary to facilitate the team's Agile development process. Work closely with Product Owners to groom backlogs and plan sprints.
* **Technical Roadmap Planning** \- Contribute to the planning and execution of the technical roadmap, prioritizing initiatives that improve the platform’s capabilities and performance.
* **Team Oversight** \- Lead the team in establishing a reliable, secure, and scalable infrastructure.
* **Quality Assurance and Testing Leadership** \- Supervise the creation of comprehensive testing strategies that encompass unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end tests, particularly within the backend development lifecycle.
* **Incident Management and Resolution** \- Lead incident response efforts, ensuring quick resolution of production issues and maintaining platform stability. Analyze incidents post-resolution to identify root causes and implement preventive measures to reduce future occurrences.
* **Security Oversight** \- Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and conduct regular security assessments to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities.
**Bonus Experience:**
* **Open-Source Expertise** \- Demonstrable experience with the use and contribution to open-source projects and communities, especially those related to GoLang, DevOps, or infrastructure management.
* **Project Management Expertise** \- Track record of managing software development projects using Kanban or even Gitlab issue trackers.
* **PaaS/SaaS Development** \- Experience in architecting, building, and maintaining Platform as a Service (PaaS) or Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions.
