##### Job Description :
Natural Resource Information & Digital Services (NRIDS) is the information
management/information technology (IM/IT) service provider and organizational
partner to the Natural Resource Ministries (NRM). As the centralized authority
for all information, geospatial data, and technology across the NRM, NRIDS is
leading the transformation and modernization of business practices through new
and innovative technology solutions, continuous improvement projects and
operational IM/IT solutions.
NRIDS provides broad information management services and leadership in data
custodianship by way of the creation, maintenance and publication of
foundational datasets and geospatial information. NRIDS is also responsible
for the full range of services to maintain and support all existing IT systems
for the NRM as well as the development of new applications to deliver on
government objectives. NRIDS is committed to client engagement and
understanding the business needs of the NRM to identify where expert
knowledge, technology and data/information solutions will help the sector
deliver their programs and services more effectively.
This position is responsible for leading the development and delivery of
scalable web applications in a continuous deployment environment.
##### **EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**
* A degree in Computer Science, Computer or Software engineering or related technical field, and minimum four years of experience as a Full Stack Developer.
* A comparable related diploma in Computer Science, Computer or Software engineering or related technical field, and minimum five years of experience as a Full Stack Developer.
* A comparable certification(s) in Computer Science, Computer or Software engineering or related technical field and minimum six years of experience as a Full Stack Developer.
* A combination of education and experience may be considered.
##### _****Related experience includes experience from each of the
following:**_
* Experience with Cloud Services/container platforms (one or more - AWS, Azure, OpenShift, Google)
* Experience with web development (one or more β Javascript, python, ruby, β¦)
* Experience with various web frameworks (one or more - React, Angular, Vue, Relay, GraphQL)
* Experience with Databases (one or more - Dynamo, Mongo, Postgres/PostGIS, Oracle)
* Experience with Data APIs, including Open API specification
* Experience with Authentication/Authorization (one or more β OpenID Connect (OIDC), Keycloak)
* Experience with CI/CD (one or more - Terraform, pipelines, Github actions, Azure Devops)
##### _**Preference may be given to applicants with one or more of the
following:**_
* Experience with Object Storage (i.e., S3, GCP)
* Experience with the OpenShift container platform
* Experience with ETL data streaming and data queuing
* Experience working with Agile team
* Experience using Bash, UNIX systems
##### **About this Position:**
-There are currently two (2) full-time positions available.
-An eligibility list may be established for future permanent and/or temporary vacancies.
-Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work from home a few days a week subject to an approved -telework agreement.
-This position can be based in any Ministry of Water, Land, and Resource Stewardship office. Some of the locations available are Victoria, Prince George, Kamloops, Vancouver, Nanaimo, Surrey, Kelowna, Chilliwack, Campbell River, Fort Nelson, Nelson, Smithers and Williams Lake.
