**Job Description:**
We are looking for a passionate and skilled iOS Developer to help build out
our app and potentially join our team as the first contractor and perhaps the
first employee. This role will begin with a six-month contract with an option
to join as a permanant employee afterwards. As our first contractor/employee,
you will have the unique opportunity to lead the development of our iOS app
from the ground up, working closely with the founders to bring our vision to
life.
**Responsibilities:**
* Design, develop, and maintain our iOS application, ensuring a smooth and user-friendly experience for pet owners.
* Collaborate with the founding team to define app features and functionality, providing input on technical feasibility and best practices.
* Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code, following industry standards and best practices.
* Conduct thorough testing and debugging to ensure the app is reliable and performant.
* Continuously identify opportunities for app improvements and implement necessary updates.
* Stay up-to-date with the latest iOS development trends and technologies, incorporating them into the app as appropriate.
* Work closely with backend developers, designers, and other team members to ensure seamless integration and a cohesive user experience.
* Contribute to the overall product strategy and help shape the future direction of the company.
**Requirements:**
* Proven experience in iOS development, with a strong portfolio of published apps.
* Proficiency in Swift and familiarity with Objective-C.
* Solid understanding of Apple’s design principles and interface guidelines.
* Experience with RESTful APIs and mobile libraries for networking.
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
**Nice-to-Haves:**
* Experience working in a startup environment.
* Knowledge of iOS app deployment process.
* Understanding of UX/UI principles and ability to work with designers to create a cohesive product.
