of consumers currently walk away dissatisfied while their medical
practitioners are frustrated by their almost complete lack of insight into the
behaviors and diet that cause their clients problems. Eating Analytics is
creating a wearable that makes tracking your eating as effortless as wearing a
Fitbit. We can reliably catch you eating as little as two chocolate chips.
Consumers and their medical practitioners will be able to understand exactly
what they ate throughout the day, why they were eating, and how their eating
affects them.
**Overview:**
As the Head of Head of Edge AI and Data EngineeringI you will play a crucial
role in architecting data pipelines, optimizing models, and implementing edge
computing solutions for our production release. Reporting directly to the CEO,
you will collaborate closely with engineering, server/web development, mobile
development, and marketing teams to ensure seamless integration of data-driven
capabilities.
**Responsibilities:**
* Develop robust pipelines to gather audio data from our new production system, ensuring data quality and reliability.
* Design and implement pre-processing, augmentation, and training pipelines to enhance the performance of voice recognition models.
* Optimize model hyperparameters to achieve optimal accuracy and efficiency.
* Develop a system to identify problem situations and acquire data for troubleshooting and model improvement.
* Create and manage an audio tagging system using platforms like Amazon Mechanical Turk to enhance dataset annotation.
* Lead the initiative to acquire ground truth data from our customer base, enhancing the effectiveness of our models.
* Research, acquire, and implement a wake word model, optimizing it to run efficiently on our wearable edge devices.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful deployment and integration of edge AI solutions.
**Qualifications and Skills:**
* 8+ years of experience as a data scientist and data engineer, with a track record of delivering successful data-driven projects.
* Proficiency in voice recognition or image recognition models.
* Experience with quantization and processing on edge devices, enabling efficient execution of models in resource-constrained environments.
* Strong proficiency in AWS services, Sagemaker, Tensorflow, and Keras for model development desired.
* Proven experience in building and optimizing data pipelines, demonstrating your technical expertise in data engineering.
* Familiarity with data science concepts and the ability to collaborate effectively with data scientists.
* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex data challenges.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within a cross-functional team.
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or a similar data and software related field.
