### The role
As the Head of Engineering at Kumospace, you’ll lead the engineering team and
drive the development of our virtual office platform. You’ll be responsible
for managing the engineering team, making technology decisions, defining
engineering culture, writing code, and helping shape the strategic direction
of our company. This role requires a combination of technical expertise,
leadership skills, and an appetite for relentless execution.
This role reports directly to the CEO.
### What you’ll do
* Lead and mentor the engineering team to support the growth and scalability of Kumospace.
* Foster a culture of innovation, excellence, and accountability within the engineering team. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product, Design, Data, Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success, to align engineering initiatives with company goals and customer needs.
* Help guide company strategy and direction by providing valuable input from both engineering and business perspectives.
* Oversee the architecture and engineering processes to ensure the delivery of high-quality, performant, and correct software. Ensure that engineering practices adhere to best practices for security, performance, and scalability.
* Lead by example, contributing to code reviews, engineering on-call, and hands-on development as needed.
### Who you are
* At least 8 years of experience in software engineering and 2 years of experience managing teams that successfully shipped and operated customer facing software.
* Passionate about managing and mentoring people, serving as a force multiplier for the engineering team.
* Works effectively cross-functionally and is able to think rigorously, communicate effectively, and make hard decisions and trade-offs.
* Thrives with a high degree of autonomy and responsibility in an ambiguous environment.
* Deep technical expertise in software development and system design with an eagerness to learn new technologies.
