### What we're looking for
As the Head of Engineering at Farmblox, you will lead the engineering team in
developing cutting-edge technologies that revolutionize farm automation. You
will be responsible for overseeing all technical aspects of the company, from
hardware integration with our sensor ecosystem to the development of
automation workflows, user dashboards, AI features, and most importantly our
big data pipelines. Your leadership will be crucial in driving innovation,
ensuring product quality, and optimizing performance to meet the needs of
farmers.
At Farmblox we don’t just make software products, our tech stack spans
everything from hardware and firmware to the cloud and mobile apps. We are
looking for someone who has a wide breadth of technical experience both
professionally and otherwise with hardware, firmware, and cloud architecture
at scale.
### Responsibilities
* Serve as a thought leader and strategy driver for the company in tandem with the CEO.
* Lead by example by being hands-on and actively involved in the development process, including architecting systems, writing and reviewing production-level code, and testing.
* Work with farmers, engineering, and business teams to understand and influence product vision and requirements.
* Budget for, hire, and manage a team of engineers.
* Maintain connections and relationships with customers to ensure exceptional customer app experience and product. # Qualifications
* 10+ years of professional experience with 3+ years of engineering leadership experience.
* A strategic thinker with a strong technical background in IoT, mobile apps, modern web technologies, and big data.
* Ability to balance work required to achieve our long term strategic vision with the necessities of day to day operations and shorter term objectives.
* Experience researching and making data-informed decisions about which technologies to use when building out new systems and features.
* Someone who thrives in a startup environment and is mission oriented.
### Nice-to-Have
* Ability and experience scaling a company.
* Has previously been a founder of a company or future aspirations to do so.
* Experience in the agricultural industry.
### Location
Our company office is located in Waltham. This position is mostly in-person
with the option to WFH as needed.
