About the company: CaraFan is a round trip transportation platform to take
people to and from events via bus transportation. On our consumer side we are
rethinking event transportation to make it easier on fans to avoid drinking
and driving, traffic, lack of parking, and outrageous parking prices. On the
B2B side we are in the business of creating unique team outing experiences,
fulfilling business transportation needs, and handling shuttle operations.
About the role: At Carafan you will play an important role in driving the
direction of our product. You will work closely with our team to create
CaraFan’s web and mobile app.This opportunity has the potential to move into a
CTO role moving forward.We want someone who can come in on the ground floor
and execute our mission from day one.
What You’ll Be Doing:
* Work closely with CEO, CBO, and other teammates to design, develop, and build the Carafan app and website, implement new features, expanding existing features, and update the app on a continuous basis.
* Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code
* Develop automated unit tests, integration tests and functional tests to ensure high-quality, defect-free code
* Collaborate with stakeholders and UX experts to deliver delightful user experiences
* Contribute to the direction of the product
* Develop and implement IT best practices
Experience + Expectations:
* 4+ years experience of consumer-focused web and mobile development
* Bachelor’s degree in CS or related field (or equal work experience)
* Expert-level knowledge of React Native, Node.JS, or other Javascript, Firebase, Kotlin, Java, objective- C, and Swift programming languages (not necessary to know all of these as long as you can get the job done)
* Apple Xcode, Apple Xcode IDE, Mobile applications development, iOS SDK, experience
* Experience building and developing in the Android environment.
* Working knowledge of the general web and mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies
* Solid understanding of the full web and mobile development life cycle
* An exceptional portfolio of past work, current apps in the apple store, and examples of on-the-fly problem solving
* Experience juggling multiple work streams with tight schedules + independently managing workflows
* Strong Documentation skills + excellent communication skills
* Experience delivering high-quality native mobile experiences for consumers
* Strong understanding of security and data protection on the web and mobile devices
* Fundamental knowledge of backend/client communication
* Working knowledge of tying in API's
* Deep understanding and experience with the most relevant and recent web and mobile technologies
* Extensive knowledge in object-oriented software development, MVC architecture, multithreading, networking and memory management
* Strong product sense and experience working closely with designers
* Experience working at a service focused company
* Domain experience in transportation, logistics, or consumer interaction fields is a plus but is not required.
Compensation will be in equity with the intention of bringing you on full-time
as we receive funding from investors. We require a minimum of 20 hours a week
commitment in order to receive equity.
The correct person can move their way into CTO within our company after
proving themselves.

stake within the company)
