Job Description

**About Rue Four**

We’re on a mission to digitize the massive, yet archaic, +$200B medical
aesthetics industry. By creating an integrated, faster, and simpler future for
medical professionals and their teams, so clinicians can get back to what
matters most – taking care of their patients. Rue Four is a venture-backed
seed stage company with notable investors Kleiner Perkins, Abstract Ventures,
Inspired Capital and others in SF & NYC.

We’re growing the team to serve America’s 40,000 dermatology, plastic surgery
and medspa practices, delivering care to many millions of their patients. Join
us in revolutionizing the way medical practices discover, compare, and
experience procurement.

**About the role**

Join Rue Four in revolutionizing the way medical aesthetic practices order
products for their office, and their patients. We’re looking for a Founding
Engineer in New York (or excited to move to NY) to build with us the next
generation of procurement software, enabling clinicians and their people to
provide better care. As a Founding Engineer at Rue Four, you will join an
early, lean and driven team in leading the company's technological design,
implementation, testing, and deployment of products transforming the future of
the medical aesthetics industry out of our Manhattan office.

You’re a perfect fit if you have experience in building full-stack products
from 0-1, owning product design to shipping - at lightning speed. You're
passionate about modernizing an archaic industry, and want to drive impact
with your skills. You can take ambiguous direction and build scalable
solutions to solve real world problems that delight our customers with a
frictionless experience. You're relentlessly resourceful, scrappy and driven.

**What you’ll do at Rue**

* Architect, design, and develop the core infrastructure and features, shipping fast and iterating according to customer feedback
* You're not hung up on perfection, but solving problems
* Build integrations into existing systems to reduce tech bloat and manual labor (e.g., PMS, POS, suppliers, distributors)
* Build systems supporting large SKU data, data history and inventory management
* Work closely across product design, engineering, founders and our current customers to uncover and solve complicated problems, deeply understanding pain points
* Collaborate with the cross-functional and founding team to define and execute the technical roadmap

**What you bring to the table**

* Senior engineer with 5+ years of full-stack software development experience (timeline is less important, if you've managed to move up the ranks quickly)
* Proven track record of building products from start to finish
* You've been in the trenches of a high-growth startup, or built your own company before this and are looking to join a quickly scaling company again
* Deeply understand SQL and/or NoSQL systems, how to model data and make it run like a dream
* Understand the broader business context and can align technical decisions with company goals
* Impressive communication skills, important for collaborating in a team dedicated to patient care.
* Understand what users need by speaking with them, dedicated to making their experience better
* Strong sense of responsibility and ownership for your own work from the initial technical design, implementation, quality control and seek new opportunities after shipping out a new feature.

**Technology** : You know your way around technologies such as React,
JavaScript/Typescript, Node.js, Go, pick them up fast or are an expert at your
own stack

**Nice to have**
Previous experience in building marketplaces or procurement, in any area

**What you can expect from joining Rue**

Joining an early, lean, and driven team, you’ll be able to bring technical
ideation from 0-1 at lightning speed. No unnecessary meetings, red tape, or
corporate structure to get you across the finish line. You will help define
how we work and what we stand for, with the opportunity to step into a
leadership role as we expand. We move quickly and simplify things as we go. We
solve the problems that we have today in ways that allow us to move even
faster in the future. The customers' problems are at the core of what we do –
we make each interaction impactful and solving the biggest challenges for them
is what drives us. We’re visionaries and take risks to innovate. We work hard
to create delightful and captivating customer experiences that make the lives
of medical professionals better. Building magic with us out of the Rue Four
office located in the heart of Soho, Manhattan.
