providing donors a streamlined and simplified experience along with greater
choice and impact in their giving. Founded in 2020 by art world veterans,
Museum Exchange is the first digital platform for art donations. Our
proprietary technology consists of a digital marketplace and software solution
that connects donors with museums, hospitals, universities, and other
nonprofit organizations across North America and manages every step of the
donation process. With widespread adoption across the art world and having
recently closed a seed round, we are ready to scale our team and technology.

**Role:**
We are seeking a Founding Engineer to take our MVP to new heights and build
what will become the industry standard for matching and processing art
donations. Working directly with the Chief Executive Officer, you will lead
our technology strategy and implement enhanced features and automation to
streamline the donation process. This is a foundational and highly strategic
role in which you will have complete ownership of the codebase and determine
the technical direction of the company.

**Responsibilities:**

* _Architect and Develop:_ Design, build, and maintain the back-end infrastructure, ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability
* _Database Design:_ Create and optimize database schemas, queries, and interactions using MongoDB to manage data
* _API Development:_ Develop RESTful APIs and integrate with our front-end systems built with React, React Router, Redux, and Tailwind/Bootstrap CSS
* _DevOps:_ Deploy and configure applications in AWS or other providers
* _Security:_ Implement security best practices and protocols to protect data and ensure the integrity of transactions on the platform
* _Collaboration:_ Work closely with the founding team to align technical solutions with our mission and goals
* _Scaling:_ Plan for and execute on scalability as we expand our platform's reach and impact in the philanthropy sector

**Requirements:**

* 4+ years of professional experience in full stack or back-end web development
* Command of Go and React, or ability to learn or implement complementary technologies
* Experience with AWS or similar cloud providers for deploying and hosting applications
* Track record of shipping product from ideation to production, working on a small team or alone
* Product-minded
* Strong judgment and decision making while weighing trade-offs
* Desire to grow with a well-funded early-stage startup
* Positive attitude, personable and professional demeanor
* Excellent communication and planning skills, can work closely with product and design teams to prioritize and iterate
* Highly organized and effective time management skills, resourceful, independent, and self-motivated
* Interest in art and/or philanthropy a plus
