Job Description:
As the Founding Engineer at Ivory Guide, you will have the existing
opportunity to build and lead the development of our web and mobile
applications from the ground up. You will work closely with our cross-
functional team, including CEO, Head of Partnerships, and medical
professionals while leading our existing engineering team to deliver high-
quality software solutions that meet the needs of our customers and drive the
success of our company. Ideal candidates will be engineering generalists who
can wear multiple hats (Engineer, Product Manager, Designer) with prior
managerial experience.
Key Responsibilities
Front-End Development: Create intuitive and responsive user interfaces that
deliver an exceptional user experience.
Back-End Development: Build robust and efficient server-side applications,
APIs, and databases to support our front-end applications.
Develop, maintain, and optimize database schemas, queries, and performance to
ensure data integrity and reliability.
Integrate with third-party APIs and services.
Implement security best practices to protect user data and ensure the safety
of our applications.
Write unit tests, conduct code reviews, and perform thorough testing to
maintain software quality.
Optimize application performance and scalability to accommodate rapid growth.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent work
experience).
2-6 years experience as a Full Stack Developer or similar role.
Proven experience building a platform from scratch, starting at the concept
stage; or experience working in an early stage start-up.
Proficiency in front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and
front-end
frameworks (e.g., React, Next.js, Angular).
Strong back-end development skills using languages like Node.js, Python, Ruby,
or Java.
Experience with database systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and agile development
methodologies,
and comfortable building these systems from scratch.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced startup environment.
Strong analytical and organizational skills.
