**About Mandrel**
Mandrel is building the operations data platform for consumer brands.
Many consumer brands today struggle to achieve profitable growth, particularly
against a backdrop of growing consumer demands and rising costs. Unlike their
sales & marketing counterparts, operations teams at these brands have few
tools available to understand and improve their performance beyond
spreadsheets or simple dashboards embedded in point solutions. Most brands
also don’t have the resources, experience, or time to invest in hiring a data
team and building out a robust data infrastructure in-house that would allow
them to harness their data more effectively.
At Mandrel, our focus is to help these businesses scale more efficiently by
reducing costs, saving time, and auditing performance. We believe the best way
to do this is with data, so we are building an operations data platform for
consumer brands that unifies intelligence in real time across their operations
stack. Our platform will automate integrations into supply chain data sources
with a streamlined interface for interacting with the data so that brands can
identify actionable insights and trends or drill down at the order or
inventory item level to understand status and event history — all in a more
dynamic environment than spreadsheets, with a lower cost of entry than BI
tools, and without the need to hire technical resources.
We are a team of experienced founders, product leaders, and engineers who have
built and supported some of the fastest-growing brands in the US. We have
raised pre-seed funding from advisors and institutional investors, including
Asymmetric Capital Partners, Construct Capital, and Lux Capital. We're looking
for self-starters who are passionate about driving the future of commerce and
building solutions needed by entrepreneurs and operations teams to create
enduring brands.
**About this role**
We’re looking for a highly motivated Founding Engineer to join as one of our
first full-time employees and work directly with the CEO and
advisors/consultants to build and deliver our first MVP for customers. This is
an opportunity to make significant technical architecture and system design
decisions, iterate on prototypes, and build our first product in a highly
autonomous environment with access to experts. This role will be pivotal for
the future of our engineering team and will set technical direction and
engineering processes.
As a Founding Engineer, you will have an opportunity to work directly with
consumer brand leaders to build high-impact data products that model complex,
real-world business challenges. In the process, you’ll get an inside view of
their strategies and become a knowledge expert across both B2B and SaaS,
partnering cross-functionally with entrepreneurs, operations leaders,
designers, engineers, and investors.

We are a US-based company with team members based in Boston, MA. We’re looking
