Job Description

Faura is a natural disaster assessment company that builds digital inspections
for homeowners to figure out the survivability of their homes. We currently
have a consumer assessment, and a white labeling platform for insurance
companies.

The back-end is the glue of all of it, handling inspections through an escrow
process, computing the assessment results, showing those results to insurance
companies, and making the experience easier for homeowners.

**You would get:**

* $110-130k/year and 2-4% equity, depending on experience.
* Health insurance
* A remote job
* The flexibility to flesh out our future (and yours).

**We would love to find someone who:**

* Has 2-3+ years of experience, preferably with a startup background. College degrees aren’t necessary.
* Wants to grow into a tech lead as a manager, or who wants to work to build out the technical foundation of our company. Either way, we would love someone who wants to scale with our dreams.
* Would be ok with occasional travel. Although we’re remote, we would love to have someone who is willing to participate at in-person events to grow together.

* _You would be: *_

* Someone who is a back-end generalist who isn’t afraid to try solutions to issues they haven’t faced before.
* Continuing to build out our API and supporting our consumer and enterprise backend. You would also own our dev/ops, data analytics infrastructure, and anything else that comes your way.
* This could be writing endpoints, building tests, implementing partnership features, integration tests with customers, rearchitecting modules to be better data models, querying and working with geospatial data, etc.
* Working on building out software that solves a huge issue, and prepares people for hurricanes, wildfires, etc.
* Working on a release cycle that ships every week.
* Using Vercel, Next.js, Typescript, Supabase, Deno, and Node as the stack.
* Using Sentry and Slack in your day to day work.

* _We ask that you: *_

* Are within the US or Canada.
* Understand how to build lean, and scalable code that is maintainable, modularized. Code is our company’s foundation, so we want to do it right as much as we can.
* Are comfortable writing tests, participating in code reviews, and working in a scaling developing team.
* Join a 2x/week development call
* Act as self starter, are comfortable with making decisions on your own and having autonomy to make things happen.
* Able to work in a startup environment with changes, modifications, and the pressure to ship often. We work together to solve challenges, but we want people with the ability to figure out issues and take direction.
