**Entry-level Software Engineers conduct or participate in the research,
design and development of systems software, software applications and/or tools
for new programs and subprograms.**
__**Responsibilities may include the following:**__
* Participate in the full software life-cycle development using object oriented methodologies
* Assist with design activities
* Implement software in C/C++
* Investigate and solve problem reports
* Integrate and test software and systems
**KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:**
**__Candidates should demonstrate a thorough understanding of software
engineering principles__**
* Good written and verbal communications skills
* Successful completion of coursework in C or C++
* Basic knowledge of Linux
* Ability to be a team player who thrives in collaborative environments and revels in team success, meeting and exceeding personal and team commitments
**PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:**
__**Experience/Knowledge in one or more of the following areas:**__
* Proficient in C, C++, Java, or an equivalent Object-Oriented language
* Knowledgeable in Python, Perl, or other scripting language
* Proficient in the use of debugging tools
* Experience working in a Linux environment
* Knowledgeable of the software development process
* Experience in the use of software tools such as Integrated Development Environments like Visual Studio or Eclipse
* Demonstrated experience working in a team environment
* Coursework in data structures, operating systems, or networking

Salary Note: This estimate represents the typical salary range for this
position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.).
Actual pay may vary. Combined Salary Range: USD $70,600.00 - USD $78,400.00
