**The Role:**
As a Founding Software Engineer at Tandem, you will play a pivotal role in
shaping the technological backbone of our platform and driving the technical
direction of our company. You’ll have a unique opportunity to influence the
direction of a high-impact startup from the ground up, contributing to both
strategic decisions and hands-on coding.
**Responsibilities**
This is a hands-on position that will involve working on all parts of our
stack, from the frontend to the backend, and collaborating with other
engineers, designers, and founders.
* Develop and maintain scalable and efficient software solutions that meet our customer needs
* Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including design, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
* Help define and execute the technical roadmap for our platform, balancing technical debt and innovation to ensure we can deliver on our business goals.
* Develop, maintain and extend development processes, tools, and workflows.
**Experience**
We’re looking for an experienced software engineer with excellent problem-
solving skills, strong communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a
fast-paced, high-growth environment.
**Desired Skills and Experience:**
* 3+ years of experience as a full stack engineer, with a focus on building scalable and reliable web applications
* Strong proficiency in Python, and familiarity with at least one Python backend framework.
* Proficiency in at least one modern frontend framework; experience with React and/or Next.js is preferred.
* Experience building and deploying cloud services (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure)
* Proficiency in DevOps tools and methodologies, such as Docker, Ansible, CI/CD, monitoring, and logging.
* Experience with Unix and familiarity with the command-line.
* Experience working with fintech vendors (Stripe, Plaid, ledgers) is a plus.
