**About The Vanderburgh Foundation**

Countless individuals in recovery from substance use disorders find themselves
without a safe, supportive place to call home. Without the right resources,
many of these individuals could face relapse, homelessness, and a cycle of
despair. We have the opportunity to change this narrative on a national scale
--and to achieve this, we need an adept storyteller, skilled marketer, and
visionary professional and who can turn potential into reality.

Vanderburgh Sober Living (VSL) is a mission-driven nonprofit dedicated to
fostering recovery communities. Founded in 2016, our network operates 38
recovery residences in eight states. We pride ourselves on our startup-like
culture, emphasizing flexibility and innovation as we trailblaze in the field
of addiction recovery. Our mission is to ensure access to supportive,
affordable, and sustainable homes for those on their recovery journey.

**About this Role**

We are looking for an innovative and adaptable leader to develop and grow our
marketing and communications efforts. The ideal candidate will have a passion
for storytelling, a deep understanding of marketing strategies, and the
ability to build and maintain our brand's voice. They will use genuine
creativity, informed by data analysis, to reach our target audiences and drive
results.

Our Director of Marketing and Communications will be someone who can navigate
the fast-paced environment of a growing and innovation-focused nonprofit, help
us connect with our community, and effectively carry the flag of our mission
and impact. This role requires a visionary builder who can lead, develop a
team, and create strategies that will ensure the our long-term success and
legacy.

**Responsibilities**

* Strategy: Develop and implement comprehensive marketing and communication strategies to enhance VSL's visibility, brand recognition, and engagement.
* Team Development: Build and lead a high-performing marketing and communications team, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
* Narrative & Story: Carry the flag with a creative vision that inspires innovative marketing through storytelling to connect with and building meaningful emotional connections with audiences.
* Brand Management: Maintain and enhance the VSL brand, ensuring consistency across all communication channels.
* Content: Oversee the creation of high-quality original content across various platforms, including social media, newsletters, press releases, and our website.
* Digital Marketing: Lead digital marketing efforts, including SEO, SEM, email marketing, and social media campaigns.
* Community Engagement: Advise everyone at VSL on how to create genuine relationships with community partners, stakeholders, and supporters to amplify our mission and reach.
* Analytics and Reporting: Track and analyze the effectiveness of marketing and communication efforts, providing regular reports and insights to the leadership team.

**Qualifications**

* Experience: Minimum of 7 years in marketing and communications, preferably in a startup.
* Skills: Strong strategic planning, content creation, and brand management skills.
* Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a talent for storytelling and engaging diverse audiences.
* Digital Proficiency: Proficient in digital marketing tools and platforms, including social media, email marketing, and SEO/SEM.
* Leadership: Proven ability to lead, mentor, and build a high-performing team.
* Creativity: Innovative thinker with a track record of driving growth and engagement through creative marketing strategies.
* Passion: Deep commitment to the mission of providing recovery housing and supporting individuals in recovery.
* Attributes: Adaptable, solutions-focused, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.

**Compensation and Benefits**

Mission-Driven Leadership: Lead a growing organization and make a tangible
difference in the lives of people across the United States. This role offers
the opportunity to shape the future of the field of addiction recovery.

Compensation Package: Includes a starting salary of $80,000 per year,
complemented by meaningful performance-based incentives tied to achieving key
organizational milestones and are intended to contribute substantially to the
overall compensation package.
