**THE OPPORTUNITY**
Wavicle is hiring ** Data Engineers** in the ATLANTA metro area who have a
passion for solving complex business problems across a variety of industries
leveraging Data & Analytic technologies. You will be responsible for designing
and building optimized data pipelines using emerging technologies, in a cloud
environment, for the purpose of driving analytic insights. Help shape how our
clients use the results of our solutions to make more informed business
decisions.
Wavicle is growing rapidly, and we are seeking talented data engineers who
want to be a part of our growth journey. As a team member, your number one
responsibility is delivering solutions for our clients; however, you have an
opportunity to get involved in internal solution development, pre-sales
activities and contributing to the growth of the Data Engineering team. You
love to be challenged and grow professionally!
This position is located in the Atlanta, GA metro area and you will have to be
open to working a hybrid schedule for one of our client engagements in the
Roswell, GA area. (3 days on/2 day off).
### **WHAT YOU WILL GET TO DO**
* Create or modify the conceptual, logical and physical data models.
* Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of sources like Hadoop, Spark, AWS Lambda, etc.
* Lead and/or mentor a small team of data engineers.
* Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve data integration pipeline.
* Develop pipeline objects using Apache Spark , PySpark and/or Python.
* Design and develop data pipeline architectures using Spark and related AWS Services.
* Load and performance test data pipelines built using the above-mentioned technologies.
* Communicate effectively with client leadership and business stakeholders.
* Participate in proposal and/or SOW development.
### **WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM**
* 5+ years of professional work experience designing and implementing data pipelines in a cloud environment.
* 2+ years of experience migrating/developing data solutions in the AWS cloud.
* Experience designing/implementing solutions using one or more databases (i.e. Snowflake, AWS Redshift, Oracle, SQL Server, Teradata, Netezza, Hadoop, Mongo DB or Cassandra).
* Expert level knowledge of using SQL to write complex, highly-optimized queries across large volumes of data.
* Hands-on object-oriented programming experience using Python.
* Professional work experience on ETL pipeline implementation using AWS services.
* Professional work experience building real-time data streams using Spark.
* Knowledge or experience in architectural best practices in building data lakes.
* Experience building conceptual, logical and/or physical database designs.
* Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or relevant degree.
* Hybrid work schedule, and must live in the Atlanta, GA metro area. Must be open to up to 25% national travel to client locations when on engagements outside of the Atlanta, GA area.
