We are seeking a highly motivated and visionary Co-Founder to join our dynamic
team in building a cutting-edge AI-powered M&A (Mergers and Acquisitions)
platform where you can buy, sell, and invest in small businesses.
As a Co-Founder, you will have a unique opportunity to shape the direction of
our company and revolutionize the way M&A transactions are conducted using the
power of artificial intelligence. is looking for a talented AI and data
engineer to join our mission of helping every American achieve financial
freedom through small business ownership. As our second technical hire, you
will have the opportunity to build Boom's AI and data foundations from the
ground up.
In this role, you will:
* Build machine learning models to extract insights from our proprietary dataset of 12M businesses, enabling personalized recommendations and predictive analytics across our platform
* Contribute towards the architecture of a proprietary matching engine leveraging different social profiles connecting buyers and sellers based on objective skillsets as well as cultural and personality traits
* Build a user experience similar to ChatGPT where a user will be able to extract any information from the knowledge base of a business listing
* Develop NLP classifiers and named entity recognition models to structure and extract key attributes from business sale listings
* Design a scalable cloud data infrastructure to manage data pipelines, models, and applications
* Optimize data processing performance and cost efficiency using tools like Spark, Kubernetes, and serverless architectures
* Monitor models in production, retrain regularly, and implement rigorous evaluation protocols
* Collaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering, and UX to guide ML applications and translate analytics into actionable insights
* Maintain high standards for data quality, documentation, testing, and reproducibility
Our ideal candidate has:
* 2+ years industry experience developing and deploying ML models to production
* Expertise building data pipelines and cloud data infrastructure
* Strong software engineering skills with Python and frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, and pandas
* Bonus points for NLP skills and MLOps knowledge
* Passion for our mission of broadening small business ownership
